An experimental study on fire combustion model in an air duct.

Author(s) : LONG J., LI N., LIU Q., et al.

Summary

The sediment in air duct of ventilation and air conditioning system will lead a fire, and the existence of the air duct is the most important way to spread the fire in the building. To simulate the actual combustion, puts a flat of sediment on the soleplate in the air duct, in the condition of different air velocities, different air duct sizes and different distribution of the sediment, measuring the temperature field in the air duct by thermocouples when the fire happens. Through analyzing the field measurement of the fire experiment, obtains the highest temperature of each thermocouple measure and analyses the influences of cross section size of the air duct, distribution of the sediment and the air velocity on the fire propagation and the highest temperature of each thermocouple measure.
