AN UNDERGROUND ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEM FOR INDIVIDUAL DWELLING SIMULATION AND EXPERIMENTATION.

Author(s) : BOURRET B., JAVELAS R.

Summary

THE SYSTEM UNDER STUDY CONSISTS OF AN UNDERGROUND INSULATED STORAGE BENEATH A FLOOR SLAB OF AN INDIVIDUAL DWELLING. THE STORAGE IS CHARGED BY 18 SQUARE METRES OF AIR SOLAR COLLECTO ENERGY TRANSFER TO THE STORAGE IS ACCOMPLISHED BY SEVERAL AIR DUCTS WHICH ARE BURIED HORIZONTALLY IN THE SOIL AT A DEPTH OF 2 METRES. ENERGY TRANSFER FROM THE STORAGE TO THE HOUSE IS MADE BY CONDUCTION IN THE SOIL TOWARD THE SLAB. A SIMULATION MODEL < TRIDIMENSIONAL BY SLICES > WHICH IS CHECKED BY AN EXPERIENCE IS SHOWN. THE STORAGE EFFICIENCY IS QUITE GOOD (ABOUT 70%) AND THE WHOLE SYSTEM IN LESS EXPENSIVE THAN WATER SOLAR SYSTEMS.
