Summary

In recent decades, the technological applications of thermoelectric modules for thermal and power generation have increased substantially. The importance of controlling thermoelectric systems has also increased to make their uses more feasible. Different controls are used in these systems. The on-off control is widespread, inexpensive, and simple, but it works by turning the device on and off to be controlled within a setpoint range, without providing a good accuracy for this fluctuation. Although more complex, the PID control stands out as one of the most efficient control systems today, minimizing oscillations, and supplying greater stability, reliability and durability of the controlled devices. In this work, a PID control for thermoelectric cooling was developed. A code developed in Arduino controlled the input voltage of the thermoelectric module according to the internal temperature of the prototype achieving a satisfactory cooling accuracy.
