Analysis of chilling injury in the biological control agent Aphidoletes aphidimyza.
Author(s) : MILES J. E., BALE J. S.
Type of article: Article
Summary
It was concluded that embryos of A. aphidimyza cannot be cryopreserved using conventional slow cooling protocols unless chilling injury can be substantially reduced with cryoprotectants. Rapid cooling rates, minimizing the time spent by embryos at high subzero temperatures are required for successful cryopreservation of the species.
