Summary

In this report the authors investigated the overwintering status of H. punctata in Tsukuba, Japan, during winter by field observations. The supercooling point and lower lethal temperature at various developmental stages of laboratory-reared and field-collected individuals were also examined. Based on these results, the overwintering strategy and cold hardiness of H. punctata are discussed.
