Analysis of HVAC experimental energy data in existing office buildings in Italy.

Summary

Requirements of case studies for the survey of energy use in existing buildings, in order to promote the efficient use of energy by establishing methods for monitoring and auditing, are presented. Experimental data cover three years monitoring of gas and electricity consumption. The auditing process concerns ten buildings located in Italy, representing similar conditions both from structural (offices built in the 1980s) and technological points of view (with the same HVAC services). Comparisons of different climates and of a simplified prediction method of energy consumption show a good accordance with experimental data.
