THE PAPER PRESENTS CLOSED FORM, ANALYTICAL SOLUTIONS FOR RESPONSE FACTORS AND CONDUCTION TRANSFER FUNCTIONS FOR SIMPLE RC NETWORKS. THESE NETWORKS ARE COMMONLY USED TO DESCRIBE THE TRANSIENT BEHAVIOUR OF WALLS AND EVEN WHOLE BUILDINGS. RESPONSE FACTORS AND CONDUCTION TRANSFER FUNCTIONS ARE ADVANTAGEOUS FOR COMPUTERSIMULATIONS. THE SOLUTIONS FOR THE SIMPLE CIRCUITS PRESENTED IN THE PAPER CAN BE COMBINED TO PRODUCE MORE COMPLEX MODELS. SUCH MODELS PERMIT THE DEVELOPMENT OF COMPREHENSIVE MICROCOMPUTER BASED COOLING LOAD CALCULATION TECHNIQUES WHICH RETAIN THE IMPORTANT PHYSICAL ASPECTS OF THE PROBLEM.
