TO PREVENT COMPLICATIONS OF BLOOD TRANSFUSION AFTER CARDIOVASCULAR SURGERY, THE AUTHORS HAVE CRYOPRESERVED PATIENT'S BLOOD PREOPERATIVELY. POST TRANSFUSION HEPATITIS DID NOT DEVELOP IN THE RECIPIENTS TRANSFUSED AUTOLOGOUS AND ALLOGENEIC FROZEN BLOOD, BUT WAS SEEN IN THE RECIPIENTS TRANSFUSED ALLOGENEIC NON FROZEN WHOLE BLOOD IN ADDITION TO FROZEN BLOOD. FROZEN AUTOLOGOUS BLOOD WILLBE A SUPERIOR BLOOD PRODUCT.
