Summary

In a short time after the discovery of the high temperature superconductivity, research and development on this field has achieved the level of application in several areas. Founded upon the development of materials such as thin superconducting layers or compact materials, wires and string applications are already possible at 77 K (the boiling temperature of liquid nitrogen) in the field of electronics, energy-and magnetic technology. The appearance of new products with superconducting compounds on the market is immediately connected with the necessary development of reliable and accomodated cryogenics. Therefore the function and the design of such cryocoolers is all above dependent on the scope of application.
