Author(s) : STRAUS J., RIHA J.

Summary

APPLICATION OF LOW TEMPERATURES IN MEDICINE IS BASED ON PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE THAT IF ANY LIVING TISSUE IS FROZEN ITS CELLS ARE KILLED. FROM THE PRACTICAL POINT OF VIEW THE FIELD OF ACTIVITY OF CRYOMEDICINE IS LIMITED BY TEMPERATURE OF THE BOILING OF LIQUID NITROGEN, THAT IS THE MOST SUITABLE COOLANT FOR THIS END. THE EXPERIENCE PRESENTED HAS BEEN ACQUIRED BY MEANS OF ORIGINAL CZECHOSLOVAK CRYOAPPLIANCES.
