Summary
Variable speed drive technologies have come into wide use recently in HVAC industry. When they are applied to centrifugal chillers and HVAC systems, there is considerable scope for saving energy. But there are many design factors to consider when using centrifugal chillers for a particular application. The author always must consider that a chiller plant runs using the chiller, cooling tower, pumps etc.
