Summary
The most important theoretical features related to the fundamentals and to the calculation of transfer functions are presented. The possibilities of their application to complex problems with multidimensional heat transfer and time dependent boundary conditions, for which other prediction methods are difficult to adapt, are emphasized. Several examples, in which function coefficients are obtained by exact analytical methods, are given. The precision of the method is shown by comparison against experimental and theoretical results for the same systems.
