Aquifer thermal energy storage.
Speicherung von Wärme und Kälte in Grundwasserleitern.
Author(s) : KABUS F., BARTELS J.
Type of article: Article, Case study
Summary
Through the integration of large earth-coupled thermal energy long-term stores, the energy efficiency and the economic profitability of appropriate heat and cold supply systems can be markedly improved. For the integrated energy supply system of the buildings of the German Parliament on the Spree River in Berlin, two aquifer stores at depths of 50 and 300 m, respectively, were installed in Germany for the first time. The technological process and some experience collected in the first operating phase are presented.
