Type of article: Article

Summary

EXPLAINS THE EFFECT OF THE FLOW CONDITIONS IN THE BLADE DUCTS IN CENTRIFUGAL FANS ON THE HYDRAULIC LOSSES AS WELL AS THE NOISE EMITTED IN THE OUTLET DUCT. WITH THIS, THE FLOW CONDITIONS ARE DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE NEGATIVE CONVECTIVE ACCELERATION OF THE FLUID. EXPLAINS HOW THE USE OF A DELAY COEFFICIENT FOR THE IMPELLER INLET DERIVED FROM THE IMPELLER GEOMETRY MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO ASSESS BOTH THE AERODYNAMIC AND THE ACOUSTIC QUALITY OF A CENTRIFUGAL FAN. SUPPLEMENTS THE AERODYNAMIC AND ACOUSTIC RELATIONSHIPS BY TEST RESULTS. (INT. BUILD. SERV. ABSTR., GB., 26, N 5, 1991/09-10, 91-01403.
