ATP small isothermal packaging and containers test.

Summary

The international agreement for transport of perishable foodstuff, ATP, signed in 1970, established a methods and procedures for measuring and checking insulating capacity of the equipment. This test method is presented in ATP (Annex 1, Appendix 2). However, the method proposed by the ATP is easier applied for large insulated equipment but difficult to apply for small packs and insulated containers. Small equipments were not in use when the ATP was written. France presents an informal proposal on this subject. This proposal will incorporate a special procedure for measuring overall coefficient of heat transfer (K coefficient) applied to small insulated containers.
