Summary
Some chosen issues connected with the bacteria of Legionella pneumophila family are presented. Since these cause serious of fatal diseases in humans – it is essential to know their potential growth in interior installations designed to ensure thermal comfort. The focus is on the hazards resulting from the creation, often unwittingly, of favorable conditions for bacteria growth in: water, ventilation, air-conditioning and heat recovery installations (used in refrigeration cycles).
