Summary
A new revised ventilation standard was proposed in 1996 by the SHASE committee of ventilation efficiency and standards in Japan. The standard is proposed for 9 pollutants which are commonly observed in indoor air. The paper gives an outline of adverse health effects of pollutants and a process for setting an air quality standard in consideration of the basic design standard for indoor air quality.
