Bismuth-2212/silver tape conductor and coil development.

Summary

The paper presents recent progress to develop and test high-temperature superconductor coils for practical applications such as motors, generators, magnetic bearings, superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES), MAGLEV trains, or electrical inductors. Critical currents of 100 000 amperes/square centimetre have been achieved in a bismuth-2212/silver tape conductor.
