Author(s) : OKUTOMI T., IGARASHI M., NEMOTO K., et al.

Summary

This paper describes the outline of the development project of the HTS magnet for the superconducting Maglev. In this project that started in 1999, the HTS magnet that consists of four persistent current HTS coils was produced in the spring of 2005. The HTS magnet operates in a persistent current mode at a rated magnetomotive force of 750 kA, and achieved a top speed of 553 km/h on the Yamanashi Maglev Test Line.
