Building energy efficiency standards of Australia: a wish list.
Author(s) : THOMAS P. C., PRASAD D. K.
Type of article: Article
Summary
This new standard, now in preparation, will aim first at larger buildings and their equipment, since these are more easily quantified and controlled. The preferred route is the energy used within a complete building, since this gives options for a flexible design. Present simulation software is academic-based, and needs to be made more user-friendly. The extremes of the Australian climate are outside any other current world standard, owing to the higher demand for cooling. A.R.T.
