Summary

PRECISION MODELLING WAS DONE OF HEAT OUTPUT AND AERODYNAMIC RESISTANCE IN ONE-, TWO-, THREE-, FOUR-, FIVE-, AND SIX-ROW IN-LINED AND STAGGERED BANKS OF BIMETALLIC TUBES WITH ROLLED-ALUMINIUM FINS. AIR CIRCULATION WAS TRANSVERSAL. THE AUTHORS STUDIED THE EFFECT OF THE NUMBER OF CROSS ROWS ON THE CHANGE IN AVERAGE HEAT OUTPUT AND ON AIR-PRESSURE LOSS IN THE TUBES. AERODYNAMIC RESISTANCE IN BOTH IN-LINE AND STAGGERED BANKS OF TUBES INCREASEDWITH THE NUMBER OF ROWS. THE HEAT-OUTPUT INTENSITY IN IN-LINE BANKS FELL WITH THE NUMBER OF CROSSW THE AVERAGE HEAT-OUTPUT COEFFICIENT INCREASED WITH THE NUMBER OF ROWS FROM ONE TO FOUR ; THEREAFTER IT REMAINED PRACTICALLY THE SAME.
