BURNOUT HEAT TRANSFER TO SF6-R13B1 MIXTURES AT NEAR-CRITICAL SATURATION PRESSURES.

Author(s) : ALPAY H. E., GORENFLO D.

Summary

THE HEAT TRANSFER BETWEEN A HORIZONTAL COPPER PIPE AND 5 MIXTURES OF SF6 AND R13B1 AT THE MAXIMUM NUCLEATE BOILING FLUX WAS MEASURED. SATURATED PRESSURES RANGED BETWEEN 92 AND 99.7% OF CRITICAL PRESSURE. THE RESULTS SHOW THAT THERMAL FLUX DENSITY IS HIGHER AND THE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT LOWER FOR MIXTURES THAN FOR PURE COMPONENTS. THE FLUX DECREASES RAPIDLY WHEN PRESSURE IS NEAR CRITICAL PRESSURE, BUT IS ALMOST UNCHANGED FOR MOST PRESSURES STUDIED.
