CAPACITY CONTROL OF ROTARY COMPRESSORS BY CYLINDER BY-PASS.

Author(s) : HORI M.

Summary

ROTARY COMPRESSORS ARE EQUIPPED WITH A BY-PASS PORT FOR VARYING THE COMPRESSOR VOLUME. THE AUTHORS SIMULATED THE GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS BY COMPUTER AND, IN THE SAME TIME, THEY TESTED THE SUITABILITY OF THIS SIMULATION. THEY ANALYSED CAPACITY AND OBSERVED THE LOSS OF THE BY-PASS SYSTEM ON A CYLINDER ; IT APPEARED THAT BY-PASS LOSS IS, FOR A CAPACITY CONTROL RANGING BETWEEN 100 AND 50%, LOWER THAN 5% COMPARED TO MOTOR CAPACITY. ITS APPLICATION TO AIR CONDITIONING BY A HEAT PUMP INCREASED HEATING CAPACITY BY 18%.
