Summary

ACTIVATED CARBON ATTRACTS GAS MOLECULES ONTO ITS SOLID SURFACE BY A WEAK ELECTRICAL CHARGE. THE MAIN USES ARE FOR THE RECOVERY OF SOLVENT VAPOURS AND FOR REMOVING POLLUTANTS. THESE GASES MAY BE DRIVEN OFF AGAIN BY APPLYING HIGH TEMPERATURE OR LOW PRESSURE. A POSSIBILITY IN AIR-CONDITIONING IS TO FILTER AND RECIRCULATE THE REQUIRED QUANTITY OF FRESH AIR, SAVING THE ENERGY OF HEATING OR COOLING THE AIR, AND EXCLUDING AMBIENT POLLUTANTS. A.R.T.
