Summary

The paper was produced to complement the CFC phase out user guide, prepared by the National Refrigerant/CFC Sub-committee in September, 1994, and covers the following topics: responding to CFC phase out; selecting ozone friendly refrigerants; and selecting suitable lubricants. It provides more detailed information and guidelines to assist the facility owner, system designer, contractor, and technician in responding to the requirements of the Montreal Protocol CFC phase out requirements. A guide to selecting an ozone friendly refrigerant has been included to provide an overview and general understanding of the issues pertaining to refrigerants.
