Summary
An approach for unifying both fields (adsorption cycles and heat storage with thermal regeneration) is attempted. It appears that heat regeneration processes are characterized by two parameters. One of them can be applied to regenerative adsorption cycles, the number of transfer units, but the second one cannot. Another parameter is then introduced: the dimensionless outlet fluid temperature at the end of the cold front. With the help of a model for adsorption cycles with thermal regeneration, dependence of performance on those two parameters is demonstrated.
