Solid-adsorption refrigerating machines.
Machines frigorifiques à adsorption solide.
Author(s) : GUILLEMINOT J. J.
Type of article: Article
Summary
The definition and properties of adsorbent-adsorbate couples are reviewed. Various processes are described, with drawings, diagrams and COP: simple-effect intermittent cycle, double-effect or twin-absorber cycle, three-adsorber cascade cycle, and mass-recovery cycle. Heat transfer in adsorbers is studied and the methods for increasing them explained: development of composite materials, use of "consolidated beds". The results already obtained or likely to be obtained are indicated. The advantages and applications of adsorption machines are summarized. J.L.
