Chilled water system forensics.

Author(s) : LUTHER K. R.

Summary

In chilled water air-conditioning systems, the difference between water inlet and outlet temperatures, at evaporator level, must be as high as possible. Many factors, such as systems design, component selection, system operation or regulation, system maintenance, tend to decrease this temperature difference, hence increasing the energy consumption. The paper analyses these factors and their impacts, and proposes some guidelines enabling optimal design of water chilled circuits.
