Summary

In order to avoid nosocomial infections, a pragmatic procedure towards a microbial environment was put in motion. This operation consisted in: first, defining the zones at risk in order to protect, on one hand a desease-prone patient and, on the other hand, the hospital community, and second, defining the critical points. These being determined, the multi-disciplinary team will have to establish biocontamination limit-levels. A hospital quality system can also be applied to installations that control the patient environment.
