CLEAN ROOMS IN INDUSTRY. A NEW APPROACH TO CLASSIFICATION.

LES SALLES PROPRES DANS L'INDUSTRIE. UNE NOUVELLE APPROCHE DE CLASSIFICATION.

Author(s) : STOKES K. H.

Type of article: Article

Summary

THE AUTHOR SUGGESTS CHANGING THE CLASSIFYING STANDARDS FOR CLEAN ROOMS IN ORDER TO ALLOW FOR (WHICH IS NOT THE CASE FOR PRESENT STANDARDS) THE BASIC DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE TWO SYSTEMS CONTROLLING THE DUST LEVEL OF A CLEAN ROOM (< CONTROLLED FLOW > SYSTEM, < CONTROLLED DILUTION > SYSTEM). HE DETAILS THE DIFFERENT PATTERNS OF THE SPACE DISTRIBUTION OF PARTICLES IN BOTH SYSTEMS AND UNDER THE DIFFERENT POSSIBLE CONDITIONS WITH THEIR CONSEQUENCES ON POLLUTION NEAR THE UNIT. THIS DISCUSSION LEADS THE AUTHOR TO PROPOSE THE STANDARDISATION OF A CLASSIFICATION PROPER TO EACH OF THE TWO SYSTEMS. J.R.
