Summary
This work introduces a new type of absorption cycle, with a different absorbent administration, the coabsorbent cycle. They enjoy the following properties: complete elimination of vapour rectification need; complete elimination of absorbent inventory problem; non-condensable refrigerant operation capacity; increase of cycle match with gliding sources; multistage cycles complexity decrease capacity; favouring behaviour for control and optimization; capacity to transpose in coabsorbent cycles known condensation absorption cycles, and create new ones, provided that thermodynamic principles are respected. As an application, a coabsorbent cycle hybrid heat pump, operated by ammonia/water, will be designed and tested within the framework of a Romanian research contract. Model results encourage heat pump research.
