Cold flow evaluation of lube oils through nonwoven filter materials.
Author(s) : CHOI K. J.
Summary
Flow characterization of used and new 15W40 lube oils with two types of polymer additives was performed at -22 °C through different types of filtration media: microglass, synthetic and cellulose media. Shear viscosity and the volumetric flow rate were measured using millipore holders. The experimental results were interpreted by means of a modified Hagen-Poiseuille law. Significant differences in the results were found with the new and used oils and with the different additives.
