FOLLOWING AN EXPLOSION WHEN A COMPRESSOR SHELL WAS BEING WELDED, LABORATORY TESTS HAVE BEEN CONDUCTED ON VARIOUS MIXTURES OF R22 AND AIR WITH OR WITHOUT ADDED OXYGEN. THE RESULTS CONFIRM A THEORETICAL FORECAST THAT MIXTURES OF ABOUT 50: 50 R22 AND AIR ARE COMBUSTIBLE AT PRESSURES 1.38 MPASCAL (200 PSIA) AND ABOVE. D.W.H.
