COMPARISON OF VARIOUS NATURAL GAS LIQUEFACTION PROCESSES AND OF VARIOUS DRIVING SYSTEMS FOR PEAK-SHAVING PLANT.

Author(s) : RATHMANN U., GRIMM P., RANKE F.

Type of article: Article

Summary

THE AUTHORS DISCUSS THE USEFULNESS OF PEAK-SHAVING PLANT AND REPORTS THE PRINCIPLES ON WHICH THEY ARE BASED: INSTALLATIONS WITH REFRIGERATING CIRCUIT AND INSTALLATIONS PRODUCING REFRIGERATION BY EXPANSION OF NATURAL GAS. THE MAIN THREE TYPES OF LIQUEFACTION PROCESSING EXISTING IN PRACTICE ARE PRESENTED, WITH THE PARAMETERS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE SELECTION OF THE PROCESS. THE SELECTION OF COMPRESSORS AND THEIR DRIVING SYSTEMS IS DISCUSSED AND THE THREE TYPES OF LIQUEFACTION PROCESSES ARE COMPARED, BASED ON THE BOUNDARY CONDITIONS CORRESPONDING TO GENERAL PRACTICAL CONDITIONS. THE ENERGY REQUIREMENTS SPECIFIC TO PROCESSES ARE DISCUSSED. R.R.
