Summary
The objective of Standards Australia is notably to produce standards on the prevention of Legionnaires' disease and building-related disorders. A committee of engineers, experts in medicine, epidemiology and microbiology, and building owners produced the AS 3666 standard in 1989: "Air-handling and water systems of buildings -microbial control". This handbook was prepared as a complement to the AS 3666 standard. The emphasis is on preventative strategies such as planning, design, installation and operational maintenance of equipment, and decontamination measures following an outbreak.
