COMPUTATION OF CRYOSTABILITY UNDER NORMAL AND ABNORMAL CONDITIONS.

Author(s) : TURNER L. R.

Summary

A COMPUTER CODE TASS HAS BEEN DEVELOPED TO ANALYZE SUPERCONDUCTING MAGNETS FOR STABILITY BY DIVIDING THE CONDUCTOR INTO ELEMENTS AND APPLYING A HEAT BALANCE TO EACH ELEMENT. TEMPERATURE DEPENDENT PROPERTIES ARE USED. TO ANALYZE ABNORMAL CONDITIONS, TIME AND SPACE INTERVALS MUST BE VARIABLE. VARIATION IN CURRENT, MAGNETIC FIELD, AND PRESSURE ARE TREATED. THE ANALYSIS IS APPLIED TO THE INTOR OH SOLENOID AND THE HRS MAGNET.
