COMPUTATION OF THERMAL CHARACTERISTICS OF LOWBOILING FLUIDS WITH THE HELP OF THE SIGNIFICANT LIQUID-STRUCTURE-THEORY.

Summary

A NEW THERMAL EQUATION OF STATE WAS DERIVED FROM EYRING'S SIGNIFICANT LIQUID STRUCTURE THEORY TO REPRESENT THE THERMAL BEHAVIOUR OF DIFFERENT FLUIDS ABOVE THE NORMAL BOILING POINT. THE EQUATION YIELDS EXACT VALUES FOR THE SATURATED LIQUID VOLUME FROM PHASE EQUILIBRIUM CONDITIONS, AND ALLOWS THE PREDICTION OF MOLAR VOLUMES IN THE SUBCRITICAL AND THE SUPERCRITICAL STATE. CORRECT VALUES OF THE CRITICAL COMPRESSIBILITY CAN BE CALCULATED.
