Summary

THE PAPER PRESENTS THE RESULTS OF A STUDY CONDUCTED TO DETERMINE HOW AIR CONDITIONING COULD BEST BE APPLIED TO A PROPOSED NEW, HIGH RISE OFFICE BUILDING TOBE LOCATED IN SYDNEY. THE BUILDING'S PASSIVE DESIGN AND AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM WAS SELECTED WITH THE AID OF COMPUTETG THESE WERE USED TO CALCULATE THE CAPITAL COST AND ENERGY CONSUMPTION OF THE ALTERNATIVES WITH THE AIM OF MINIMISING THE LIFE CYCLE COST OF THE PROJECT. THE EFFECT UPON THE LIFE CYCLE COST OF VARYING SOME BASIC DESIGN PARAMETERS ARE DISCUSSED.
