Concept of a hatchcoverless reefer container vessel.

Author(s) : ZYLICZ W.

Summary

The paper describes a new concept of hatchcoverless vessel designed exclusively for integrated reefer containers as alternative to the existing reefer container ships. The highest transport capacity is obtained with superstructure fore and engine room aft. High elasticity of the main propulsion and electric power station system results from the choice of a system with medium-speed engines, shaft generators and c.p. propellers. Principles of dimensioning electric generators are outlined. Different technical solutions are compared.
