Concepts for energy savings in heat pumps and refrigeration systems.

Author(s) : BÄCKSTRÖM B.

Summary

In the paper, results are presented from 3 plants with medium size heat pumps (1 megawatt heat output). The three pumps are added to existing oilfired hot water boiler installations, which means bivalent operation and are equipped with screw comressors. The heat sources are cleaned sewage water, ambient air and outdoor skating rinks. The plants have been in operation during the last 3 to 8 years. Conclusions are presented and discussed.
