Summary

THIS PAPER DEALS WITH A THEORETICAL STUDY ON THE CONDENSATION OF SUPERHEATED VAPOUR OF FLUOROCARBON REFRIGERANT INSIDE A HORIZONTAL TUBE. A PREVIOUS ANALYSIS OF THE CONDENSATION OF SATURATED VAPOUR IS EXTENDED TO THE CASE OF SUPERHEATED VAPOUR, AND EXPRESSIONS FOR THE LOCAL CONDENSING HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT AND THE INTERFACIAL FRICTION FACTOR ARE DEVELOPED. THE EXPRESSIONS ARE VERIFIED BY COMPARING WITH EXPERIMENTAL DATA FOR R11 AND R113.
