Type of article: Article

Summary

THE PROCESS OF CONDENSATION ON A VERTICAL PLATE FIN IS ANALYTICALLY STUDIED IN ORDER TO ESTABLISH THE EFFECT OF FIN GEOMETRY ON THE CONDENSATION HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT. THE RESULTS WILL BE USED IN SUBSEQUENT STUDIES ON OPTIMIZATION OF THE FIN GEOMETRY, IN CONNECTION WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF FLAT HEAT PIPES. THE MAIN RESULTS PRESENTED ARE THE EFFECTS OF FIN PROFILE AND FIN PARAMETER ON THE CONDENSATE FILM THICKNESS, ON THE LOCAL AND AVERAGE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENTS AND ON THE FIN EFFICIENCY.
