The statistics, dynamics and brief characteristic of studies on condensation on profiled surfaces, carried out since 1947 until 1997, are presented. The statistical investigation includes the total number of studies over a 50-year period, the number of theoretical and experimental investigations with classification according to condensation type (stagnant or moving vapour, inside or outside tubes) and surface geometry (horizontal, vertical tubes).
