Summary

AN OUTLINE OF VARIOUS FACTORS INFLUENCING POSSIBLE FROST PENETRATION THROUGH A FLOOR UNDER THE FREEZERS AND FREEZING TUNNELS IS GIVEN. NECESSITY FOR BASE HEATING IS SHOWN. A GLYCOL-BASED HEATING SYSTEM IN COLD STORES BUILT IN THE 1970S IS CHARACTERIZED. THE RESULTS OF A BASE STRUCTURE INVESTIGATION PERFORMED ON 3 DIFFERENT KINDS OF COLD STORES AFTER HEATING SYSTEM FAILURE ARE DISCUSSED AND METHODS OF REPAIR ARE PROPOSED.
