Summary
The flow resistance characteristics of control valves and dampers play important roles in the automatic control of piping and duct systems. The authors calculate the flow control characteristic curves of piping systems with the pumps of given flow characteristics and compare the differences between the calculated and test results with a commercial control valve. With the same method of the piping system, they calculate the flow characteristics of a duct system with the damper of given resistance characteristics.
