CONTROL STRATEGIES OF AN INTELLIGENT CONTROLLER FOR A LIQUID CHILLING PLANT.

Author(s) : WONG A. K. H., JAMES R. W.

Summary

THE PROBLEMS LINKED TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF CONVENTIONAL CONTROL SYSTEMS WERE IDENTIFIED, AND A NEW INTELLIGENT CONTROL SYSTEM WAS DEVELOPED. THE ALGORITHMS OF THIS INTELLIGENT CONTROL INCLUDE A FORWARD RESPONSE PROCEDURE AND ARE DIVIDED INTO TWO MAIN SECTORS: SAFETY AND CAPACITY CONTROL. AN EXPERIMENTAL COMPARISON IS MADE WHICH SHOWS THAT THE NEW SYSTEM PERFORMS BETTER. ITS USE AS A MONITORING SYSTEM IS JUSTIFIED FROM AN ECONOMICAL POINT OF VIEW.
