Summary
NUMERICAL RESULTS FOR THE HEAT TRANSFER ARE PRESENTED FOR MODERATE CYLINDER SPACINGS AND FOR HIGH TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCES. PERTURBATION RESULTS FOR THE FIELD VARIABLES ARE SUPPLIED WHICH ARE VALID FOR ALL CYLINDER SPACINGS AT LOW TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCES. AN ASYMPTOTIC SOLUTION IS GIVEN WHICH IS VALID FOR VERY TALL CYLINDERS AND ALL TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCES. THERE IS QUALITATIVE AGREEMENT WITH RESULTS FOR THE HORIZONTAL CONCENTRIC CYLINDERS AND SPHERES FILLED WITH A POROUS MEDIUM, ALTHOUGH THE DEPENDENCE ON THE ASPECT RATIO LEADS TO SOME INTERESTING PHENOMENA.
