Summary
It has been found experimentally that self-sustained oscillations of cryorefrigerant flow rate and temperature can occur when cooling down and filling up cryogenic pipelines with liquid helium. If such oscillations occur, the cool-down process terminates. A theoretical solution to this problem has been obtained, and the experimental and calculated results show satisfactory agreement.
