Cooling plant and distribution expansion for county government.

Summary

Operating experience of an existing central station heating/cooling system showed that the installed plant had never worked to full capacity. As a result, a large extension load could be added, using much of the distribution pipework and with a minimum of extra plant. Different types and makes of water chiller were analysed to predict long-term owning and running costs. These evaluations are shown. Careful consideration was taken of piping expansion and the resulting forces. Tender documents allowed some freedom of choice within the specification. A.R.T.
