Summary

ARMED WITH GOOD WEATHER DATA AND ENERGY COST DATA, THE DESIGNER'S ANALYSIS THEN DEPENDS ON PERFORMANCE INFORMATION PROVIDED BY THE VARIOUS EQUIPMENT SUPPLIERS INVOLVED AND ON THE SUPPLIERS' ABILITY TO ASSIST THE DESIGNER. AS WITH ANY NON-TRADITIONAL APPLICATION, THE SUCCESSFUL DESIGNER SHOULD WORK CLOSELY WITH THE MANUFACTURERS OF THE MAJOR EQUIPMENT, TO ASSURE TOTAL SYSTEM COMPATIBILITY. EFFECTIVE FREE COOLING SYSTEM DESIGN DEPENDS LARGELY ON THE DESIGNER'S ABILITY AND WILLINGNESS TO BREAK OLD DESIGN HABITS AND TO LOOK AT A FAMILIAR PROBLEM IN AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT WAY.
